The magic of the kitchen life…

Camp kitchens have a knack for being the place that everyone wants to have an in with but also kind of terrifies you too. So many sharp and powerful tools! But it’s like that weird pet that once you get to know it better, you realize it’s all warm fuzzies.

It’s a place where the staff work hard, learn a lot about working in a kitchen environment, listen to an array of music tastes, and get a lot of kudos from happily fed guests. It’s a great place for those who like being a part of the camp life but not in the fray of managing kids ALL DAY LONG. We love you camp counsellors! We just don’t want to be you. You will often meet a few HILARIOUS kids that make it into the memory book. (ex. Kid Chef – 2015)

Do you know someone who loves camp?
Maybe they are too young for summer staff just yet?
Know someone who loves food/cooking and might enjoy picking up some skills? Do you know an up and coming young chef? (Our last chef started in the camp kitchen volunteering at 15 and running it at 24!) 

This is a great environment for learning in the kitchen, building and refining your skills and being surrounded by some great mentors! Fircom has had some great folks help build a reputation of delicious food, left some great resources of recipes and systems for the next dream team to take it and run.
