Camp Fircom has a new wood splitter!
A big thank you goes out to Splitfire Sales Inc and Gulf & Fraser Community Fund for their generous support in purchasing our brand new wood splitter!
This invaluable addition enables us to enhance site safety by effectively removing hazardous trees and efficiently transforming them into firewood. By doing so, we continue to maintain the safety of our site while actively reducing our reliance on fossil fuels for heating purposes. This is one of our significant steps towards a more sustainable future.
Many heart-felt thanks to Split-fire and Gulf And Fraser Foundation for making this happen, and for helping us keep our site safe. The machine is a high quality, Canadian-built piece of equipment that should serve the camp well for decades, saving our Site Staff while they take on monumental jobs.
