The Vancouver Sun's Douglas Todd discusses all the great reason's why it's important for teens to unplug and get into nature:

"It’s been hot and hazy and felt weirdly ominous in Metro Vancouver these days. Just another reason to get a break from urban life.

In earlier days parents had certain reasons for sending their kids to summer camp, usually having to do with keeping the offspring busy and getting a break from each other.

But now the arguments for kids going to summer camps have become more serious, in a way. They focus on connecting super-urbanized kids with nature, weaning them off their high-tech gadget addictions and perhaps even helping them find their souls." Continue reading here
