Camp Fircom's year-round staff team consists of an Executive Director, Rentals & Marketing Manager, Site Manager, Program & Finance Manager, Head Chef, Administrative Assistant, Site Assistant who work with the Board of Directors to carry out Fircom’s mission.
Margo has over fifteen year’s administrative experience and has a background in non-profit management.
Margo has a Bachelor's of Communication from SFU and is a self-described policy wonk. Nothing makes her happier than having her ducks in a row. Margo has done everything under the sun at Fircom: bookkeeping, finances, human resources, administration, fundraising. In 2016, she is refocusing her work on the Rentals (corporate and weddings) and Marketing aspects of Fircom.
Neil is Fircom’s longest serving staff person! He worked as a volunteer and summer staff beginning in 1993 and once turned the camp truck into a giant shark.
Neil studied non-profit management at BCIT and began working in as a year-round office staff in 2005. He saw Fircom through the hard years of redevelopment, leading work parties, protecting the needs of Fircom within larger Gambier Island development, and keeping the Fircom spirit alive.
In 2011, Neil moved back to working at the site full-time and founding the Fircom Farm. He is passionate about local food production and studied Permaculture Site Design and Sustainable Agriculture at the UBC Farm. He likes designing and building things, and growing vegetables, and has a marvelous gift for photography.
